Types of Food Items

PAPAD

The papad is an Indian thin weathered wafer referred to as a cracker or a flatbread. It is usually produced from dried lentils, grilled fried or roasted. These are processed in natural setups using rollers. Papad is just a dehydrated lentil chip studded using India spices that can be fried. Peanut and salt oil are added to make a dough which can be flavoured with seasoning such as, as an example, chilli, cumin, garlic or black pepper. Papads are a true example of the flavour and genius of Indian cuisines.

FRYUMS

Fryums is essentially a cereal (corn and wheat starch) based’ready to fry’ pellets. It’s quite a popular snack in most Indian homes. Fryums is just a snack food made chiefly of curry peppers and dry sago. They may also comprise tapioca along with wheat flour. Fryums puff up immediately once deep-fried, and they’re either eaten as a snack or served the same as a papadum to accompany a meal. They are in a variety of colours and shapes such as stars, hollow tubes, and horizontal squares.

POPCORN

Popcorn, one of the most popular snacks is consumed across the world. It is a corn kernel variety which enlarges and puffs up on heating. This whole-grain food gained popularity in India during the period of early western civilizations. It is loved by people of all age groups. Be it movie time, chilling with friends, binge watching favourite shows, or as an evening snack, there is no time or occasion to have a bowl of freshly popped popcorn.

MILK POWDER

Milk powder is a suitable remedy to those who lack immediate use of conventional refrigeration methods and dairy food. It’s obtained by eliminating water content of milk. The purpose of manufacturing milk powder is to convert the perishable raw material that is liquid, to a product which may be stored for longer. Water activity, which hampers metabolism, is lowered preferably without lowering the quality.

NUTS AND DRY-FRUITS

Natural fleshy fruits that have already been naturally or synthetically dried are called nuts. For example, dried figs, raisins, dried cherries, apricots, etc., are called nuts. Dehydrated apples, oranges, kiwis, etc. are also called nuts or dried fruits and vegetables. On the other hand, Dry fruits are rich in vitamins, proteins, minerals and fats. They also contain high amount of saturated fats. Thus, they ought to be consumed in moderation.

VEGETABLES

Veggies are elements of plants which can be consumed by humans or creatures like food. The word vegetable usually identifies the new edible factors of certain herbaceous plants-roots, stalks, renders, blossoms, fresh fruit, or seeds. These plant parts are either eaten fresh or prepared like a dish, usually in numerous ways. Berries may be eaten either cooked or raw and play a significant role in human nutrition, being chiefly saturated in carbohydrates and fat, along with being high in minerals, vitamins and soluble fibre.

TEA AND COFFE

Tea and coffee are the two most common beverages in the world. They are widely believed to be addictive and hazardous to health when taken in large quantities. Tea and Coffee plants are members of the evergreen family. If allowed to grow naturally, both would develop into relatively large trees. Tea is a genteel beverage requiring preparation and time to sip. The pace is always slow, calm and tranquil, making the drink soothing. On the other hand, the coffee culture can be fast-paced and frantic.
